The doula supports the client’s right to make their own choices, respecting their decisions, wishes, and spiritual preferences. The doula does not impose personal beliefs or practices.
Confidentiality.
All client information (personal, medical, emotional) is kept strictly confidential. Disclosure to third parties is permitted only with written consent.
Empathy and presence.
Creating a safe space where emotions, fears, questions, and wishes can be expressed openly. The doula offers emotional support, understanding, and non-judgmental presence.
Competence and professional development.
The doula maintains up-to-date knowledge in psychology, palliative care, crisis support, ethics, and grief work. Regular training and supervision are part of professional practice.
Ethical financial practice.
The doula ensures transparency in financial arrangements, clearly explaining service costs and payment terms. All financial interactions are based on honesty and fairness.
Collaboration with other professionals.
Working in harmony with medical, social, and psychological professionals. When necessary, the doula refers clients to appropriate specialists.
Non-exploitation and non-manipulation.
It is unacceptable to use the client’s trust for personal gain or apply pressure. The doula does not engage in family, legal, or medical conflicts.
Respect for cultural and spiritual diversity.
The doula respects the client’s religious, cultural, spiritual, and personal values, creating a safe space for their expression.
Responsibility to society.
The doula contributes to public awareness of death, dying, and grief, promoting safe and respectful end-of-life practices.
Transparency of information.
Clients and their families receive a clear understanding of the doula’s role, scope of responsibility, possibilities and limitations of support, as well as financial terms, including those related to the association.
